Grand Steel’s Statement on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Dear Valued Grand Steel Customer:

As the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is being felt around the world, we at Grand Steel want to assure you that we are taking steps to keep continuity in our business practices during this ever-changing world event. First and foremost, we are focused on the safety and health of our families, friends, and colleagues.

We are closely monitoring the communications from all over the world and will work with our steel mills and processors to keep everyone well informed of any changes, delays or closings.

These business challenges can potentially impact organizations of all sizes. These are the steps we are taking to minimize the impact to our customers as a result of this situation; and maximize our efforts to keep employees and customers safe.

BUSINESS RESILIENCY: We are monitoring the situation daily to ensure that we are deploying best practices in response to this outbreak to keep the supply chain moving.

CRITICAL FUNCTIONS: Grand Steel has strategies in place to maintain all critical functions. Our network/computer capabilities allow secure remote access to support our employees. We will continue to manage and monitor the stability of our network.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT: Grand Steel employees can answer calls, manage releases, process orders and troubleshoot issues remotely should this become necessary.

TRAVEL: As things progress, we are prepared to stop non-essential travel in order to reduce the risk of possible exposure. We will be monitoring destinations and will make adjustments as warranted.

UPDATES: As we learn of this event affecting any of our steel mills or processers, we will work to communicate any possible inventory issues and mitigate any possibility of shortages.

OUTLOOK:  This is a fluid situation that we’re watching closely.  We believe that the steel distribution/steel consuming industries and their customers will be negatively affected. However, we maintain a positive outlook due to the resilience and strength of our country and industry at large.
